The journal contains academic articles that are commissioned and written by experts in their respective fields with regular contributions from senior practitioners and members of the judiciary from across the Commonwealth.

Commonwealth Case notes and book reviews are also a regular feature.

The journal is published three times a year in April, August and December. Members are entitled to receive free copies although institutions can subscribe to the journal and individual copies are available to purchase directly from the secretariat upon request.

Just as the ubiquitous medieval instrument beckoned people to listen, so too will the CLA’s newsletter, The Clarion, captivate you with interesting legal news from around the Commonwealth.  The newsletter is published three times a year in February, June and October and provides a cross-section of information that will be of interest to all constituents, particularly those in jurisdictions where there is limited access to legal news.

The Bulletin is a regular update on CLA activities that is circulated exclusively to members. It is published three times a year in January, May and September.

A review of the CLA from 2003 – 2008 will be published to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the CLA and will be launched at the anniversary conference to be held in Jamaica in October 2008.

2008 is an important milestone for the CLA in that it marks 6 years since the Council and Executive Committee embarked upon a journey to reinvigorate the association.  The review will highlight the major activities and successes of the CLA over the last 6 years, in addition to focusing on the strategic objectives and long-term future of the association.

Members will automatically receive a copy of the Review and additional copies will be available from the secretariat in October 2008.

An update of the Technical Survey on the Mobility of Commonwealth Lawyers, first produced in 1997, has been completed. The Survey has been renamed the Guide to Common Law Qualification in the Commonwealth and covers 53 Commonwealth countries including Overseas and Dependant Territories.

The updated survey was launched at the 15th Commonwealth Law Conference in Nairobi, Kenya in September 2007 and is available to purchase from the secretariat now.

The CLA has previously published a Directory of Members, listing all individual and institutional members of the Association. An online edition is currently being produced and will be accessible via the CLA website. This will be password protected and available to members only as of January 2008.
