A G Kalidas served as President of the Malaysian Bar from 2021 to 2022. The Malaysian Bar is a statutory body incorporated in 1977, and among its many functions, regulates the legal profession in Peninsular Malaysia. A G Kalidas is currently serving as a council member on the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (“CLA”) (2022–2024).

After practising civil and criminal litigation for more than 24 years, A G Kalidas is a firm believer in growing the legal talents of tomorrow as the best form of legacy for any senior practitioner. He constantly engages with the young and aspiring students of the law via academic talks and lectures at educational institutes nationwide. His presidency at the Malaysian Bar coincided with a rise of almost 30% of the total webinars conducted by the Malaysian Bar annually. He is also a strong proponent of leveraging on the latest technological advancement to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal profession, especially in the post-pandemic era.
