A1 : Corporate Governance: the bigger picture
Corporate governance principles are well established and in the UK have evolved, largely by consent, following a series of Reports starting, in the main, with Cadbury in 1982 and through to Higgs in 2003, and various European Directives since. We examine how effective Corporate Governance has evolved elsewhere within the Commonwealth and the extent to which we have led or lagged behind that process? What should corporations take into account in making investment plans or commencing projects? On the other hand should Commonwealth Governments take to themselves the design and enforcement of solutions, thus enabling the widest set of stakeholders to win back public trust by ensuring transparency and enforceability of governance procedures.
