Clemens Handl

Clemens Handl is a partner at CHG Rechtsanwälte and head of the firm’s data & technology practice group. He advises national and international companies on the legal dimensions of digital transformation, with a focus on IT law, data protection, intellectual property, AI, and technology-driven business models. Combining deep legal expertise with a strong practical understanding of technology, he helps organisations implement innovation in a legally sound and commercially workable way. Clemens is a frequent voice on topics such as AI compliance, cybersecurity, digital regulation, and the governance of emerging technologies. He studied law at the University of Innsbruck, specialised further in IT and media law at the University of Vienna, and has served as an external data protection officer since 2018.
