Edward Choi
Edward Choi is a lawyer who lives, works, and studied in the Commonwealth of Nations.
Edward is a Partner of the law firm Metcalfe, Blainey & Burns LLP in Ontario, Canada. He is also an elected Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and an Adjudicator for the Law Society Tribunal. He is a member of the LSO’s Professional Development and Competence Committee, the Access to Justice Committee and the Real Estate Liaison Group.
Edward’s practice of law include civil litigation, dispute resolution, employment law, real estate, wills and estate, among others.
Edward graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick. After receiving his Juris Doctor (JD) degree, Edward completed his articling at Metcalfe, Blainey & Burns LLP and was Called to the Bar of Ontario in January 2017. Prior to practicing law, Edward held positions in the private, public, not-for-profit, and educational sectors.
In addition to his JD degree, Edward also holds a LLM in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the University of Hong Kong (from Hong Kong, a former member of the Commonwealth), a LLB from Queen Mary, University of London (in the United Kingdom), and a BBA (Honours Bachelor of Business Administration) from Wilfrid Laurier University (in Canada). He also holds a Bachelor of Education (in Adult Education) from Brock University (in Canada). He has recently completed the Legal Practice Course with Distinction at the University of Law in England.
Edward is a member of the Christian Legal Fellowship, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the Christian Legal Society (U.S.), Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship (U.K.), the Runnymede Society, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association. Edward currently serves as a Vice Chair on the Markham Public Library Board and as a Member of the Race Relations Committee of the City of Markham.
Outside of the office, Edward enjoys travelling, learning and exploring, socializing, skiing, biking, volunteering and advocating for his community.
Edward is a loyal subject of His Majesty the King and a member of the Monarchist League of Canada. He was blessed to have lived and practiced under Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and to have attended both her Diamond and Platinum Jubilees. He aspires to uphold the rule of law and quality of life in the Commonwealth of Nations.
