The Commonwealth Lawyers Association (CLA) Climate Justice Committee is pleased to invite contributions for the launch edition of its forthcoming newsletter. This publication will serve as a platform for members of the legal profession across the Commonwealth to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on the evolving field of climate justice and the rule of law.
The Committee welcomes articles, commentaries, and case analyses that explore the role of law, policy, and governance in advancing equitable and sustainable responses to the global climate crisis.
Suggested areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
- Developments in climate change litigation and enforcement
- Human rights dimensions of climate justice
- The role of Indigenous and local communities in climate governance
- Corporate responsibility, ESG standards, and environmental compliance
- Climate finance, adaptation, and mechanisms for loss and damage
- Legal education, advocacy, and capacity-building for climate action
Submission Guidelines:
- Length: 800–1,500 words (shorter insights and case notes may be considered)
- Format: Microsoft Word document (.docx)
- Author details: Please include a brief biographical note (approximately 50 words) and your professional affiliation
- Submission deadline: 28th February 2026

Contributions will be reviewed by the Committee’s Editorial Team, and selected articles will be published in the launch edition of the newsletter.
Through this publication, the Climate Justice Committee seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration among Commonwealth legal professionals dedicated to ensuring that the principles of justice, fairness, and the rule of law remain central to global climate action.
