To mark the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting (CLMM) held in Mauritius, and the of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and partners It’s a Penalty are pleased to share our Policy Brief on Preventing and Eliminating Child, Early and Forced Marriage in the Commonwealth. This has been produced as part of the CommonProtect initiative to address child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) in the Commonwealth. We welcome that child, early and forced marriage was on the agenda of law ministers at the CLMM as a follow up to their last meeting in The Bahamas, and the production under the direction of Law Ministers of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM): The Commonwealth Best Practice Guide. We look forward to continuing to work with the Commonwealth Family to address these issues.
