Melinda Maynard

Melinda Svetlana Bacchus-Maynard is a Partner in the law firm of Peter D. Maynard, Counsel & Attorneys and heads the firm’s Conveyancing and Real Property Department.  Melinda’s principal areas of practice include residential and commercial property financing and acquisition, corporate, immigration, probate, maritime, aviation and foreign direct investment.  Melinda obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1998 and a LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Leeds in 2000.  She completed her Bar Vocational Studies at BBP Law School in 2001.

Melinda was called to the Bar of England and Wales and The Bahamas Bar in 2001 and is in good standing with The Bahamas Bar Association.  She worked in several leading law firms in The Bahamas including:- Higgs & Johnson for 1 and a half  years, Lennox Paton for 4 years and Glinton Sweeting & O’Brien for 12 years.  For the past 6 years, Melinda has been on the Board of Directors of Hands for Hunger, a local non-profit providing nutritious and fortifying food to the hungry.  Prior to that she served on the Heart Ball Committee of the Heart Foundation of The Bahamas.
