Tony Lau

Tony Lau is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales. He is currently an associate of CMS Hong Kong LLP with the Finance Group. His practice primarily focuses on structured finance, restructuring and insolvency, derivates, as well as related arbitration and dispute resolution.

He was named as a “Rising Star” in the restructuring and insolvency sector (Hong Kong) of 2023 and 2024 edition of IFLR1000 as well as a “Key Lawyer” in the restructuring and insolvency sector of 2023 edition of Legal 500.

Tony Lau is a member of the Insolvency Law Committee as well as the Young Solicitors’ Group of The Law Society of Hong Kong, a member of the Appeal Panel (Housing) and a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings) (Section 45 of the Buildings Ordinance, Chapter 123 of the Laws of Hong Kong). Tony was a convenor of the employment and economy group of Youth I.D.E.A.S (a youth think-tank) under the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (2023-2025).
