CLA News / Good news following our joint statement on Sri Lanka with CLEA and CPA

With reference to the joint statement of CLA, CLEA and CPA of 27th November 2018, expressing concern as to the implications for the rule of law of the political crisis in Sri Lanka, there is good news to report;  The unanimous judgment of the Supreme Court dated 13th December, declaring that the purported dissolution of Parliament by the President was unlawful, was respected by the parties and Prime Minister Wickramasinghe (whom President Siresena had purported to replace with former President Rajapaksa) was restored to office.
